Per the Public Holidays Act, the following Monday becomes a public holiday too — as with National Women’s Day (9 Aug, a Sunday) shifting the holiday to Monday 10 August 2026.
Good Friday and Family Day are tied to the Christian Easter calendar, calculated from the lunar cycle — so both shift within a roughly five-week window each year rather than falling on a fixed date.
